Remember Inazuma Eleven? That game series about kids playing soccer, alien invasions, time travel, dinosaur footballers and straight up attempted murder? Well Level-5 Games CEO Akihiro Hino has put out a couple tweets hinting at the potential return of the franchise that served as the company’s flag ship property for many years until they thought up a game about a kid with a watch that lets him see monsters.
The series proved so popular in Japan it spawned countless anime series, manga adaptations and even box office blockbusters such as Inazuma Eleven the Movie: The Invasion of the Strongest Army of Ogres. The series has acheived a small success outside of Japan breaking big into the European market and also finding success in Australia and South America.
As for the hints of a new installment in the Inazuma Eleven franchise, Hino comments that should a game be made it will take the series back to basics and not feature things such as time travel instead focusing on the hotblooded battle of soccer. Hino also released an image of a character presumed to be a part of the new game.
Hino declined to reveal any further information but claims that we will get to see more of this supposed game at the Level-5 Vision Event later this year.
