Bandai Namco Entertainment are super excited for their upcoming JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure title Eyes Of Heaven, and to celebrate it’s almost-release they plan on posting character-specific videos that span the game’s entire roster which, last time I checked, is at least fifty strong. So far the list of names is fairly thick, but it’s only going to get thicker! Before jumping in and catching a glimpse of the latest spotlight characters, why not check out those who came before it: Jonathan Joestar, Robert E.O. Zeppeli, Kars, Jolyne Cujoh, Ermes Costello, Yukako Yamagishi, Iggy, Jean Pierre Polnareff, Muhammad Avdol, Joshu Higashikata, Guido Mista, Diego Brando (From Another Universe), Old Man Joseph Joestar, Josuke Higashikata (Part VIII), Kosaku Kawajiri, and Hol Horse.
It looks as though Bandai Namco Entertainment have slowed their roll this morning with the release of three new character-specific trailers for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven. Over the past week, they’ve gotten into the habit of releasing five or so videos at once, making it a very hard string of news pieces to stay on top of, but today we’re seeing something a little different, something I as the person writing these articles hopes doesn’t change too soon. Now without further delay, I’m going to jump right in to the character introductions because, well…I’m just as excited for this game as anyone reading and I want to talk about this trio of radical fighters!
Three trailers, three characters, two arcs: The first of the three is Part III: Stardust Crusaders’ very own N’Doul; the blind, desert-dwelling mystic accompanied by the Stand Geb which is essentially a small stream of water-like liquid that N’Doul can control at his will. Mostly taking the shape of a creature’s claw, this Stand is swift as the wind and strong enough to rip the face off of almost any opponent…rest in peace, Speedwagon Foundation helicopter pilot. You’ll always be missed. The second of the three is a young man named Koichi Hirose from Part IV: Diamond Is Unbreakable. His Stand Echoes has the strange ability to write specific words on both organic and inorganic substances alike that expel high-frequency sounds related to said word that continue to get louder and louder as time goes one. Echoes also has two evolutions that increase the ferocity of this ability but also makes the Stand both faster and stronger physically. The final of the three is Akira Otoishi, also from Part IV just like Koichi, who uses the Stand Red Hot Chilli Pepper which has the immeasurably powerful ability to harness the pure destructive force of electricity in any way he seems fit. He can absorb it to heal wounds, make himself faster, stronger, more perceptive, and almost anything else you can imagine heightened senses would grant you. Red Hot Chilli Pepper can also appear in certain objects that have a constant flow of electricity like television sets or lamp posts, making it easier for him to sneak up on opponents.
Fact is…these trailers will explain most, if not more, than what I have myself, but that’s fine because we all love JJBA and the more one can talk about it, the better! JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes Of Heaven is now available on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 across Japan, but us here in the West are very much hoping for a localised release soon.
