Dead or Alive, the fighting franchise set apart by its detailed attention to…physics. Naturally, this niche led to the spin off series that features less trial by combat, and more…physics. Popular enough for a sequel, the DOA Xtreme series is ready to add a third to the fold, with the (unsurprisingly titled) Dead or Alive Xtreme 3. Set to utilise the Yawaraka 2.0 Engine, with DOA 5 having run on the original version, fans can look forward to improved visuals…or just the visuals in general. Maybe. What’s interesting about this third installment is that it was originally noted as being made exclusively for Japan and the Asian market. Western fans however to exception to that and started a petition to see their buxom brawlers localised once more. Whilst there’s yet to be an official result to this petition, Team Ninja head Yosuke Hayashi has mused about an “adjusted” version of the game for Western audiences, if the demand is high enough. Until results are realised, the game retains a Japanese release date of February 25th.
Anywho, more information is set to appear in Weekly Famitsu, with the site hosting images of the two combatants who received the highest number of votes in the poll to determine which nine lovely ladies will compete this Xtreme time around. For those curious cats out there, the results were as follows:
The game itself is set for both a PS4 and PS Vita release, titled Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Fortune and Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Venus respectively. Considerations have also been made regarding the PlayStation VR headset, meaning you’ll be able to get an even more inclusive view of the beach sports you so desire. That’s why everyone likes these games right?
