I woke up in a pretty good mood today but it has now been multiplied by a million thanks to some news straight from Bandai Namco Entertainment’s RPG panel at Anime Expo 2015 regarding the Western localisation of a Digimon video game that fans have been waiting for ever since they first dreamed of a more mature piece of Digital Monsters media.
The game is called Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, and it revolves around a young man or women, depending on your choice, who must travel between the real world and the Digital World in order to uncover the secrets behind a mysterious virus that’s spreading from human to human causing sickness and death. Of course, there to help are a whole bunch of Digimon who you’ll have to befriend, raise, train, and evolve in order to restore balance and retain peace in both worlds.
Canada’s Amazon portal recently listed this Adventure/RPG as a PlayStation 4 title and fans finally found a shred of hope. Now, thanks to Bandai Namco Entertainment’s panel, we’ve been given something solid to hold onto as we cry ourselves to sleep with thoughts of finally holding this title in our trembling hands.
It has been released over in Japan, as all good things are, and Western fans of the franchise have been nothing but jealous ever since. We no longer have a reason to be envious because, come 2016, North America, Latin America, and Brazil will all be getting Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth for both the PlayStation Vita and the PlayStation 4.
Now nothing has been said regarding a release anywhere else in the Western world but chances are places like Europe, Australia, and New Zealand will too be seeing this highly-anticipated title hit local shelves. If not, we can always import it from the USA, something we’ve all done before and hell…we’ll all do again, especially for Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth!
To tease us even more, Bandai Namco Entertainment also released a short trailer of the upcoming video game which I have provided for you just below:
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is localized and coming in 2016 on PlayStation 4 and digitally on the PlayStation Vita!
Set in the near future, the line between the real and digital worlds is blurred. Logging into cyberspace is part of everyday life. For one teenager, a harmless on-line chat spawns a chance encounter with a mysterious hacker. Little did this teen know, this brief meeting would lead to a digi-monumental adventure. – Bandai Namco Entertainment
