It’s on days like these that I’m truly thankful that, all those years ago, I was introduced to the Shonen majesty that is Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto. Despite my more recent disposition towards the ending of the Manga, there’s still a great deal of my heart that is warmed by a piece of new media such as the brand-new trailer for the upcoming film Boruto: Naruto The Movie.
The official website for the new film was updated today to include a trailer that happens to feature footage from the movie that has yet to have been shown in previous trailers and teasers. Despite the trailer being entirely in Japanese, it doesn’t take much brain power to figure out just what it is that’s going on within it.
The new footage will get you old-school Naruto fans fired up as it throws back to the vibe of series’ beginning with the introduction of the kids of the new generation. It’s also super exciting to see Boruto in Naruto’s old gear as well as him using a pair of techniques previously mastered by his father and what looks to be his new master.
On the 7th of August this film will open in theatres across Japan. The first two million tickets purchased will be accompanied by two extras; a new Manga chapter written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto himself called “The Day When Naruto Became Hokage“, and a full-colour version of the Manga’s final chapter. For those of us living outside of Japan…the film WILL be hitting local shores sometime after the theatrical release in Japan but screenings will be limited. Madman Entertainment have already announced plans to bring the movie to Aussie cinemas later on this year.
Until we get to see the film in all it’s glory, or at least until we get to see more about the film in general, enjoy this latest trailer. By the way, the song you’re about to hear in the trailer, that’s the theme for the movie and it’s called “Diver” by KANA-BOON, so enjoy an awesome tune while you enjoy an awesome trailer!
