Inio Asano’s ‘A Girl On The Shore’ Manga To Get English Release by Vertical

As a die hard fan of Inio Asano and his manga masterpieces such as What a Wonderful World! and Solanin, I can say with great certainty that manga fans in the West are in for quite a treat thanks to publishing house Vertical. Vertical have officially confirmed that they have acquired the license for A Girl On The Shore for a long awaited English release.

It is no secret that I love Asano and his criminally overlooked works. It is truly heartwarming and genuinely exciting to see more of this incredible mangaka’s work getting an English language release considering that only 3 titles out of his impressive catalogue of work have been released in English to date. I think this is a good sign of things to come for Asano fans as more of his great work makes its way into our hands and hearts.

No date has been set as of yet for A Girl On The Shore’s English release however a tentative early 2016 date appears to be slated for the title. Stay tuned Asano fans for more details as they emerge.

Flip flop slipperdy snap, want to hear a puzzle slap? Who hoot hoots like a shoe in the night, what beetleborgs do is quite a fright. You can be Scooby Doo and eat your pie too but I'm just having some fun being Halliday, dude.

  2. this is positively euphoric news

  3. I saw the announcement when it was published in march and immediately placed an order on amazon. I came across this page again and reread the article and noticed that you stated that the release date wasn’t given. Maybe it wasn’t given officially but on Amazon it has always listed Jan 19, 2016. I hope more people buy his books. I really wish to one day be able to hold an english set of Punpun.
