It seems odd for a contemporary video game company to still be developing for older console models like the PlayStation Portable but I suppose stranger things have happened. It has just been announced through an early scan of Japan’s ‘V Jump’ magazine that a new ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ video game is set to be released this Winter for the PlayStation Portable and the PlayStation Vita. This game, titled ‘Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V Tag Force Special’, will bring together the much-loved protagonists of past and present ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ series’ for one huge battle royal.
Not much regarding story has been divulged but one would assume that some sort of time and space overlap has caused all these heroes to come together to fight some greater evil…or not. Either way, I bet it’s going to be one hell of an awesome game especially because it will feature most, if not all, of the ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ cards currently in circulation. This means you’ll be able to use over seven thousand cards to construct and master your perfect deck.
Specifically developed for the Portable, gamers from the new age will be able to download their PlayStation Vita copy digitally. unfortunately it will get no physical release. This has just been announced for Japan but my hopes are that we’ll get to see this game hit local shelves sometime in the foreseeable future. There are still many fans of ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ floating about in the West and I think it’d make them immeasurably happy to be able to get their hands on such a game. I know I’m excited!
