That’s right fellow followers of Umbra, everybody’s favourite sweet toothed witch is back for another hair raising adventure. Well, it’s sorta the same adventure, but with a few tweaks here and there…also it’s an anime, so that’s new.
Based on the best-selling franchise, this pulse-pounding feature length anime shows you a side of Bayonetta you’ve never seen before! Twenty years after her awakening, the hottest witch in gaming history is still searching for clues that could help unravel the mysteries of her dark past. Aided in her quest by the clandestine weapon smith Rodin – and his deadly creations: Scarborough Fair – Bayonetta continues to leave a trail of angel corpses in her irresistible wake. Her search for answers leads to encounters with a mysterious – and eerily familiar – little girl, a vengeance-obsessed journalist, and a deadly white-haired beauty that seems to know more about Bayonetta than the witch herself. Fans of the franchise won’t want to miss this chance to see their favorite fantasy come to life in a killer flick packed with mind-blowing action and scandalous scenes of seduction!
Though the film itself has been out for a few months, it only featured a Japanese audio track. Ironic in that the Bayonetta game featured no such option, with even the Japanese release utilising the English dub. But more power to them, as the Japanese dub was so well received that the cast will reprise their roles in the upcoming Bayonetta 2. Good job guys. Since we’ve stumbled onto the topic of reprisals, FUNimation has also listed a few familiar voices in their announcement for the English dub. See if you can pick ’em out:
- Hellena Taylor as Bayonetta
- Grey DeLisle as Jeanne
- Yuri Lowenthal as Luka
- Grant Albrecht as Balder
- Dave Fennoy as Rodin
- John Kassir as Enzo
- Richard Epcar as Narrator
Though no specifics have been given on when Bloody Fate will see a Western release, it’s pretty safe to assume that it’s not too far away. Something you can thank FUNimation and/or Madman for, if you reside in North America or Australia respectively. I guess in the meantime we’ll have to make do with an awesome video game franchise. Isn’t life cruel?
