There’s nothing more awesome than a twisted Ninja story, apart from maybe a twisted Ninja story directed by Kill La Kill’s very own Akira Amemiya! It’s Anime Expo time and from the Studio Trigger panel comes some very exciting news regarding their upcoming Anime adaptation of the highly popular novel “Ninja Slayer”.
If you loved the over-the-top action of ‘Kill La Kill’ and you enjoy yourself some Shinobi-centric slaughter, then it looks like ‘Ninja Slayer’ is just the Anime for you. Alongside announcing it’s director, the panel also reveled two new posters for the upcoming Anime season both of which were illustrated by Takashi Okazaki who you may know is the Mangaka behind the series ‘Afro Samurai’.
there are plans to release the very first teaser trailer for the series at Anime Expo but, at this point in time, it has not been shown so you’ll just have to stick around for when it is. As a bonus for convention attendees, Good Smile Company will be selling official ‘Ninja Slayer’ merchandise so if you are at the expo, well…you’re probably not reading this. Ugh…Go buy ‘Ninja Slayer’ stuff!
For those who have no idea what I’m talking about: ‘Ninja Slayer’ was originally a novel written by two men, Bradley Bond and Philip “Ninj@” Morzez, that become so popular it spawned some just-as-popular adaptations which took the form of two Mangas and now an Anime series. I’m going to assume this anime, who’s actual title is ‘Ninja Slayer From Animation‘, is going to be extremely high octane and feature some extremely gritty action. The Anime is set for a release sometime in 2015 but that doesn’t mean you wont be hearing from it until then. Stick to the site, there’s plenty more to come out of Anime Expo 2014 including the very first trailer for the series.

Set in the dystopian underworld of Neo-Saitama, Ninja Slayer takes on Soukai Syndicate ninja in mortal combat.
