Think back to your childhood. What do you remember? ‘Dragon Ball Z’. ‘Digimon’. ‘Pokemon’. What about ‘Medabots’? Is that ringing a bell? It should! it was one of the very best series’ of the late 90s and early 20s and it’s a video game series that is still running in Japan to this very day. In fact, a new game is about to be released and we’ve just been given a brand-new trailer for it. How awesome is that? I’m hoping you, reader, are just as excited as I am about this.
I’m almost going nuclear just thinking about the prospect of a new ‘Medabots’ video game coming to the West, though…that has yet to be announced so don’t get TOO excited. The new game (‘Medabots 8’) was announced back in May and is set to be released on the 3DS in Japan on the 28th of August. The story will have players walk in the shoes of a young boy named Salt who is actually a junior detective.
You alongside your Medabot partner – which will either be Metabee or Rokusho depending on which game version you purchase – will take on investigative jobs revolving around Medabots and their masters. Throughout the game you’ll be able to meet new characters, face off against some pretty gnarly enemies and build a bunch of new bots from the parts of your defeated opponents.
You can also buy parts or trade them from friends if you want but actually ripping an arm off of a foe and sticking it to your bot’s body is so much more fun! Damn, that was kind of crazy. They’re robots, it’s ok! I really hope this game makes it’s way to the West but seeing as we didn’t see ‘Medabots 7’, ‘6’, ‘5’, ‘4’…you know what I’m getting at. Let’s just say that there isn’t a good chance we’ll be seeing this one on local shelves. Still, it’s fun to watch new trailers and the newest one can be seen just below the article so go take a look.
